Barcelona summer INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Internship Program Weekend Activities

The University of Dreams weekend activities are one of the most popular aspects of our program, and it's no secret why. Traveling and experiencing the city is a crucial element in allowing you to explore all that Barcelona has to offer. It is very important to us that you get the full experience of living in Barcelona for the summer. Below is a breakdown of the type of activities the program will host.

Tour of Barcelona
To launch our weekend activities lineup, we are going to explore Barcelona on a double-decker tour of the city! We will visit the city's most famous attractions including Las Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, and Casa Batilo. We will conclude the tour in Parc Guell. Once we are done touring, we will feast on some traditional Spanish tapas at one of Barcelona's restaurants.
Flamenco Show
Rhythm, passion, and movement come together to create a mesmerizing flamenco performance at the Tablao de Carmen. Its prestigious cuadro—or troupe—presents a vibrant show, oozing Latin style and spirit. We will attend a show and have a pre-performance dinner of Catalan and Andalusian delicacies. El Tablao de Carmen is a highly regarded flamenco show with two evening performances at Poble Espanyol, an area filled with stores selling arts and crafts from Spain. You won't want to miss this unforgettable night.
Mallorca Overnight Excursion
You'd never think an island would have so many options, but the options are seemingly endless when it comes to the nightlife in Mallorca. The capital city of Palma is the hotspot when it comes to beaches, restaurants and culture. We will take a fast boat from a Barcelona port to Palma. Once we arrive in Mallorca/Palma, we will check in to our hotel and have dinner as a group at one of their amazing restaurants. The next day we will head over to the beach for the day and head back to Barcelona in the late afternoon.
Sitges
Sitges is an amazing town 35km south of Barcelona. It is absolutely worth a visit. Sitges is known for its beautiful beach and its perfect weather. We will spend the afternoon basking in the sun and we will provide everyone with lunch. After spending the day on the beach, participants will have the opportunity to stay and experience its nightlife or return home for the evening. The list of things to do here is almost endless. If you come to Sitges, be prepared to want to spend the rest of your life in this unique town.
River Trekking the Pyrenees
Catalonia offers some of the most impressive venues in Europe for the increasingly popular sport of river trekking. The primitive, lush river canyons possess a beauty and mystique that make river trekking here an unforgettable experience for fans of both nature and adrenaline. With a series of more than a dozen waterfalls and crystal-clear pools back to back in these canyons, you'll never have more fun mixing it up with Mother Nature. River trekking destinations are incredibly only an hour and a half from Barcelona's city center. After some calorie-loading and gearing up at the base of the canyon, we'll hike up to our drop-in point. From there it's down, down, down by rappelling, sliding and jumping off of the astounding rock formations into the pools below. Our expert guides and the thick wetsuit and helmet you'll be wearing will safely get you to the bottom unscathed and very ready for lunch. After lunch we'll do some more exploring of the Pyrenees; after an incredible adventure we will head back to Barcelona.
Going Away Party
For our final farewell party we will take our group to a restaurant called Soho. Soho restaurant is located in the Port Olympic under the Mapfre Towers. We will spend an enchanted evening with the entire group eating dinner and reminiscing about the summer of a lifetime. After having dinner we will stay and celebrate at the restaurant, which turns into a beach party location. It will be an unforgettable night!
